Domestic Short Hair (short coat) : : Female (spayed) : : Adult : : Medium
Penny came to us in very poor condition. One of her eyes were destroyed by infection. That eye has been removed. She also had a chronic problem with a fungal infection in her foot. She had a non-healing wound that required daily treatment with a fairly expensive fungicide for several months. The infection is now gone, but her new owner will need to be vigilant and respond quickly if she gets any other wounds on her left foot. She will need immediate treatment if that happens. We believe Penny won't have further problems with her foot, but the possibility should be considered by her new family BEFORE adopting. If the infection should return, it would need prompt treatment, which can be expensive. Penny is spayed, vaccinated, and FIV/FeLV negative. Now for the fun part... Penny is a ball of fire! She's an active kitty who does not want to be ignored. She wants to play, and she wants to play with YOU. Her personality is irresistible. It's a bit difficult to trim her nails because she's sensitive about her paws after all her previous vet issues with the left front paw. Nonetheless, she cannot be declawed, both because it is cruel and immoral and because of the previous fungal infection. If you are unable to trim her nails, your vet can help you. Penny is available at PetSense in Enid, OK.
